On Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM, RHFC joined the international committee to celebrate Earth Hour to build a better tomorrow for our planet and future generations.
RHFC united to shine a light on climate action and #ChangeClimateChange! through the posting of flyers containing information’s about Earth Hour through our media channels, we switched on the Earth Hour Facebook profile frame on our logo and all members of RHFC observed this year’s Earth Hour by switching their lights off for 60+ minutes for our planet and future generations.
From its humble beginnings in 2007, WWF’s Earth Hour has grown to become the world’s largest grassroots-led environmental movement for the planet, engaging more than 178 countries and territories worldwide! 2017 marks Earth Hour’s tenth anniversary, a new milestone in its commitment to making the planet a better place. Over the past ten years, WWF and Earth Hour teams worldwide have brought thousands of individuals together to help fund and support on-the-ground environmental and social initiatives that serve to advance our goal for a sustainable, climate-friendly future.
One of the main reasons for RHFC involvement is that , we love this planet. That’s why we decided to celebrate Earth Hour to make as much noise as possible for action on climate change.
We couldn’t think of a better way of making ourselves heard than to raise awareness and generally celebrate this amazing planet we call “home.” These goes to bost our environmental friendly activity project to guide against climate change through the planting of fruit trees for triple effects i.e. as a source of food, income and to guide against climate change in Africa and Cameroon in particular.
RHFC was able to reached about 1.5million people via our awareness campaigns and was our first celebration. Come 2018, we hope to make it better and reach many people in Africa and Cameroon in particular. Thanks for being part of this campaign.
Each year millions of people, businesses, and landmarks set aside an hour to host events, switch off their lights, and generally make noise to shine a light on the need for climate action. And this coming year 24 March 2018 at 8:30 PM to 9:30PM, you’re invited!
